Creation
O
ne of my favorite app interfaces for creating music on a touch screen is that of TC-Performer by Bit Shape, which has been around for close to 7 years. Bit Shape's app collection is the creation of Kevin Schlei, currently at the Peck School of the Arts, in Madison, WI.

I still don't really understand how the interface works, but it's very enjoyable to play with. Even on a phone, it's a fun to explore when you have some down time.

Below is a short improvisation using the Tube Dwellers patch.

I wish I could create my own patches for this. Bit Shape's other offerings look equally compelling, thinking of TC-11 and TC-Data.

Update: I decided to buy TC-11 and it's really great! And in this app you can in fact edit and create your own patches. I think the price tag made me shy away from it at first, but I'm happy I nabbed it.
